Welcome to Monument Elementary School

G.R.E.A.T. Program Graduation

On Friday, January 11, we celebrated the accomplishments of our 4th grade students in completing the G.R.E.A.T. Program.  The G.R.E.A.T. Program (stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training) is a nationwide program to teach students key social skills and the importance of avoiding gang violence behavior.  The Quincy program has been a partnership between the City of Quincy, Quincy Police Department, and the Quincy School District, allowing one police officier to be dedicated to teaching the curriculum to students.  Officier Julie Fuller has been a positive influence on our students as she has taught the program this fall to all our 4th graders.  Mayor Hemberry and Police Chief Ackerman were the keynote speakers at our ceremony to honor the dedicated work of our students.  Many parents and guests were also present.  Make sure to congradulate a 4th grader for their dedicated work!

School Supplies!

This year Monument Elementary is trying something new and exciting for the 2012-13 school year.  All grades are requireing each student to have the same supplies to begin the school year.  Instead of sending home a supply list, the school will be putting together individual binders filled with supplies at a discounted price of only $20.00.  Many parents have already purchased and pre-ordered their child's supplies.  It's not too late!  You can stop by the office in August to purchase the supplies.  Need more information?  Please contact the school directly.

Just think, no more fighting the crowds at Target or WalMart to find the exact supplies the teacher is requesting!
