G.R.E.A.T. Program Graduation
On Friday, January 11, we celebrated the accomplishments of our 4th grade students in completing the G.R.E.A.T. Program. The G.R.E.A.T. Program (stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training) is a nationwide program to teach students key social skills and the importance of avoiding gang violence behavior. The Quincy program has been a partnership between the City of Quincy, Quincy Police Department, and the Quincy School District, allowing one police officier to be dedicated to teaching the curriculum to students. Officier Julie Fuller has been a positive influence on our students as she has taught the program this fall to all our 4th graders. Mayor Hemberry and Police Chief Ackerman were the keynote speakers at our ceremony to honor the dedicated work of our students. Many parents and guests were also present. Make sure to congradulate a 4th grader for their dedicated work!
