At the December 20 School Board meeting, Alex Ybarra officially became a new member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Ybarra replaces Lisa Mickelson who stepped down after serving on the Board for the past 14 years. Please join us in welcoming Alex Ybarra to his new position.
Alex Ybarra was born and raised in Quincy. He and his wife, Tammy, daughter, Micaela, and two step-sons, Brady and Tony, have all attended Quincy Schools. Alex holds a BS in Mathematics and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and was employed by Rocket Research Company in Redmond, Washington, for 15 years as an engineer/scientist. In 2003, he decided to move his family back home to Quincy, where he works as a Senior Resource Analyst for Grant County PUD.
Alex has long been active with Quincy schools, serving as the Chairperson of the Quincy School District Facilities Committee, supporting the Quincy Wrestling Programs, and coaching his daughter’s softball team for five years. Alex hopes to assist the District in achieving its vision while serving the children of Quincy/George and their families.
