Monument Elementary hosted a Family Engineering Activity Room during Spring Conferences. This activity room was our school’s Title 1 parent night(s) + 3 afternoons. Parents and students visited the room and worked on Engineering Activities. We had 87 students and over 90 parents stop in participate in our activities. Some of the activities included putting together pens and taking them apart using an assembly line approach, building and testing an arch for strength, predicting sound with a variety of tubes, building a tower, comparing measurements of feet and volume, and building a diving board from dominoes. After completing the activities students and parents were rewarded with granola bars and apple slices for a job well done!
