Alex Ybarra was born and raised in Quincy. He is a 1979 graduate of Quincy High and his daughter, Micaela, will be a 2018 graduate as well. Alex holds a BS in Mathematics and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and was employed by Rocket Research Company in Redmond, Washington, for 15 years as an engineer/scientist. In 2003, he decided to move his family back home to Quincy, where he works as a Reliability and Compliance Auditor for Grant County PUD.
Alex has long been active with Quincy schools, serving as the Chairperson of the Quincy School District Facilities Committee, supporting the Quincy Wrestling Programs, and coaching little girls’ softball teams for over a decade. Alex is also a Governor Appointed Commissioner on the Commission on Hispanic Affairs and a Board Director for the Washington State School Board Association.
Alex hopes to assist the District in achieving its vision by serving the children and families of Quincy School District.
