It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Lisa Uvila as the new principal of Monument Elementary, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. Lisa has served as an educator and administrator in the public school system for over 20 years. She earned her Washington State Teaching Certification and Masters in Educational Administration from City University in Bellevue, WA and has shared her enthusiasm, leadership skills and passion for education with students ever since. Lisa began her educational career as a classroom teacher at Monroe Elementary in Port Angeles, and quickly gained advanced roles including Technology Sustainability Coordinator, Mentor Teacher and Student Teacher Supervisor. In 2006, Lisa accepted her first Administrator role with Lyman Elementary, in the Sedro-Wooley school district. In this position, she facilitated Parent Engagement opportunities and implemented student-centered character trait education. Although Lisa has worked as an elementary principal in Arizona for the past four years, her heart stayed in the Pacific Northwest. Her love for living in Washington state is what inspired her to apply for the position of Principal at Monument. She cannot wait to begin building meaningful relationships with staff, students and community members here in Quincy. Her leadership style is based on four main attributes:
• Passion: Lisa is passionate about helping students achieve their potential
• Integrity: She believes all decisions should be honest and based on strong moral principles
• Balance: Lisa will achieve goals while promoting a balance between home, family and school for all individuals
• Commitment: Lisa knows how hard it is to always give 100%, and gladly accepts the challenge
Please join us in welcoming Lisa Uvila to our district and her position as Principal at Monument Elementary.
